New Videos

Here are the latest videos from the static test department of candidates for certification. The last one is a maybe - the R&D department needs to do more testing on it. We are still working our way to certification of these motors. It is a process that takes more time than one thinks, especially to produce a product that is reliable and consistent for our consumers.

Well, October has come and gone and we've been busy! We've decided to develop multiple reloads and get them certified at the same time. Currently we will be certifying two reloads in the coming months - "Candlepower" and "Resinator". On the right in the picture below is the "Candlepower" reload - a wax/asphalt mixture that produces a bright yellow flame with a hint of smoke. On the left is the 'Resinator' reload - a HTPB mixture that produces very visible mach diamonds as well as a blue flame with no smoke. The MSRP of the Candlepower reloads is $50 for a 3 pack. The MSRP of the Resinator reloads is $40 for a 2 pack.

Information Release 9/14/2007

Alpha Hybrids will be submitting the 440cc, I 200 550N motor with the exclusive Wax/Asphalt formulation to NAR S&T for certification in mid October. The 440cc motor will include one 440cc flight tank, one 54mm case with integral thrust ring, graphite nozzle, splash collar and 440cc injector. MSRP will be $200. If one wishes to purchase another 440cc flight tank and injector so that multiple flights can be done in a day without having to bring a bigger supply tank they will be $50 for the set. Standard 'Candlepower' reloads will come 3 to a pack and be initally priced at $50.

If there is interest Alpha Hybrids will also release the 300cc, I 175 350N motor with both the 'Candlepower' and 'Resinator' reloads. The 'Resinator' reloads are an HTPB mixture that produces a more pronouced black smoke.

300cc Motor Flight Testing

Today at the Tripoli Colorado Research launch Alpha Hybrids flight tested the 300cc Wax/Asphalt motor. 3 flights were completed and the data is being compared to the extensive static testing to verify performance. All 3 flights were in a 5.5" 14 pound (loaded) rocket named Gretna Strang. While it didn't break any altitude records all the flights were up close and personal. The motors performed flawlessly as well as an altimeter in development. Attached is a picture of the thrust curve taken from the altimeter.
